I self flagellate in my spare time

The Scribe: Irin Chronicles Book One - Elizabeth Hunter

So much torture. The pacing is annoying, Ava is a little girl in a grown woman's body, Malachi is the perfect Gary Stu and the entire plot just sounds like any other UF book out there.

- Girl has some sort of power that makes her a special snowflake? Check.

-Girl is thought of as strange by her peers, she is beyond beautiful and embodies the perfect female as she just loves children? Check.

- Grown ass man centuries of years old is enthralled by above female and finds her beyond beautiful? Check and double check.

Have you read this book before?

Because I damn well have read this formula over, and over, and over again until I got sick of it. It is kind of Twilight-ish and we all know how much I loathe that series.

So here is the deal, if you are new to UF and you have lots and lots of patience you will find this book refreshing and new. But if you are a jaded, veteran reader such as myself it will be pure torture.
