A Lady by Midnight (Spindle Cove, #3)

A Lady by Midnight (Spindle Cove, #3) - Tessa Dare I wanted to like Thorne but he is so unlikeable that is painful. He is so nasty and they are moment when I suspect that he possibly be a violent and abusive man despite the authors best efforts to paint him in a favourable light. Katy is so naive and gullible, at first I like her, she did have some charming lines but the more she interacted with Thorne the more I thought that really she was falling in "love" with him because there was a cycle of abuse in her life and she was looking for her next abuser. In fact before the do the deed, Thorne tells her that really she doesn't really like him, she likes this idea that she has of him and he couldn't be more right. Because, despite their past history they really aren't the same people and there nothing likeable or even remotely charming about him. Really, their relationship is borderline abusive.I seriously want a refund for the precious moments of my life that I spend reading it.
